Kansas City is the largest city within the state of Missouri, the predominant city of the Missouri-Kansas metropolitan area spanning the border between the states. The city’s economy mainly drives the economy of the surrounding metropolitan area. As the corresponding metro area is the 37th largest within the United States, it naturally hosts one of the largest and influential economies in its region.
